A Hug

Social Worker Support

Working as a Child Protection Social Worker is a stressful job.

Social workers create case plans for child safety, permanency and well being and provide direct services to families under very stressful circumstances.

They are the ones calling for hours trying to find a foster placement, often in the middle of the night.  They are the ones holding a scared child's hand as they meet their new foster parents for the first time. They are the ones that offer a hug after a visit with a bio parent. They are the ones that navigate the relationship between foster families and biological families.  They are the ones that work closely with bio parents and have to make some very touchy recommendations.

Village of Hope offers support to social workers by providing snacks and drinks, coffee, special lunches, and notes of encouragment. We help keep the welfare office organized and keep the Journey Bags replenished. This provides some stress relief to our Social Workers so they can provide the best possible services to children and families.  We hope by providing support to the social workers, we have less turnover and more continuity for foster children.
